Ao Cacao was founded by Thomas Netana Wright, a pastry chef and chocolatier with deep roots in craftsmanship and a passion for Pacific origins with whakapapa to Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whatua & Te Whakatohea. Drawing inspiration from his family’s heritage—including the historic Wright’s Dairy in Chelsea, London—Thomas combines artisanal mastery with ethical sourcing practices to create chocolate that is both luxurious and meaningful.
